Veterans’
Information If you are a veteran, the first thing you do at Alfred State is visit the Office of Enrollment Services. Staff will work with you to supply the Veterans’ Administration (VA) with the certification indicating you are a student so you can receive your monthly benefits. (You will need a certified copy of your DD214). The following procedures to monitor attendance have been approved
by the State Education Department Bureau of Veteran’s Education: Veterans are required to attend classes in order to receive
educational benefits. Veterans
receiving benefits must go to the Office of Enrollment Services by Friday of each week classes are in session to “sign in,”
attesting they are attending classes.
Failure to do so will result in the Office of Enrollment Services notifying the VA, and benefits may be terminated.
Further, veterans must contact the veterans’ certifying
official in
the Office of Enrollment Services to insure paperwork
is properly completed whenever they drop a course, change their major, withdraw from the
College and/or are enrolled in courses that have non-punitive grades (S
or U). |
