Standing Committees

Each chair is encouraged to form a committee to assist in the completion of duties.  Not all committees function every year.  If you are interested in participating on one of the standing committees, contact the appropriate chair and find out more information.

Get Involved

Make sure that you check campus media for news and information about leadership development activities sponsored by the Student Senate of Alfred State College and the Office of Student Life.  Training makes effective leaders.  Be one!

Executive Board

Each elected chair, along with the Student Representative to the College Council serves as a member of the Executive Board.  Exec Board meetings are held in the Orvis Activities Center each Tuesday when College is in session.

Recent Senate Accomplishments

· Allocation, distribution, and management of over $525,000 in activities fees.
· Successful vote on the mandatory activities fee!
· Funded new clubs based in student interest in gaming and the first post-secondary Skills USA club in SUNY.
· Holiday Food Drive.
· Victim assistance fund.
· Championed the student view in issues of college governance.
· Funding of many projects that positively affected student life.
· Fully funded equipment and technology reserves to keep us strong into the next century.

· Leadership in campus decision-making.
