Your Activites Fee

Students at Alfred State pay a mandatory activities fee.  That fee is managed by the Student Senate with assistance from Campus Life and totals over $525,000.  Activities fees are used to fund recreational, social, educational, and cultural programming for your entertainment.

Student Senate’s role is the allocation and monitoring of the use of your funds.  On an annual basis, Senate’s Finance Committee determines available funds, solicits budget requests, analyzes those requests, and notifies clubs of their anticipated funding.  Clubs and organizations then provide programming and activities according to their mission and the desires of students.

The key to satisfaction is your involvement in the process.  Students who participate in clubs and organizations have immediate input to the number and types of activities provided.  Students who choose not to involve themselves have less input and probably less satisfaction with the quality of their student life experience.
