Mission Statement
The Outdoor Recreation Club of Alfred State College is sponsored by the Student Senate and is composed of an elected council of students who provide outdoor leadership in offerings such as organized weekend outings, non-credit mini-courses, and the maintenance of rental equipment at a low cost to the entire student body at Alfred State.

Our goal is to encourage students to, first participate, then to discover their skills, and finally, to pass on their knowledge to new members of the club.

Who Are We.......

The Outdoor Recreation Club is sponsored by the Alfred State College Student Senate to provide students with additional outlets for their free time.  Since its inception, the club has expanded its operation to include a non-credit mini-course in kayaking, recreational trips, a storeroom open to rent and maintain equipment, and an indoor climbing cave.  A competent staff from the Outdoor Recreation Council provides instruction.

  All equipment handled by ORC has been purchased through Student Senate funding.  The club offers a wide variety of equipment and outings at prices designed to appeal to students.  The nominal rental fees cover maintenance of the equipment in the storeroom.  Rental is on a first-come, first-served basis.
